Brian Mulder Humanitarian appeal

To all Friends, Family, Organisations and all interested parties. This is a very sad story but needs to be told. My Uncle Brian Mulder, along with his partner Belinda, her daughter Roxanne & husband Jacques and little baby Ruben (just over a year old) were held up on Friday 2nd of March 2012 around 7:45pm on a small holding in Driefontein, Muldersdrift...

This is a very sad story but needs to be told. My Uncle Brian Mulder, along with his partner Belinda, her daughter Roxanne & husband Jacques and little baby Ruben (just over a year old) were held up on Friday 2nd of March 2012 around 7:45pm on a small holding in Driefontein, Muldersdrift.

Three men armed with four firearms told the victims that they were going to die, they shot several rounds and unfortunately Brian was shot four times; twice through the lungs, in his left elbow and in his left shoulder. The thieves stole all the cell phones, jewellery and all the cash that was on the property.

Eventually the victims managed to get a cell phone from the neighbours and called an ambulance and the police. The medics said Brian’s condition was very critical and that his chances of survival were very slim. With the given information Jacques (Brian’s son in law) called his boss Menno for advice, with that Menno Parsons, Ryan Horseman and Lynch Jordaan started calling to find a suitable hospital and after several phone calls the only Dr. available to give the best care was at Milpark Hospital. By this time Brian’s condition had drastically deteriorated and had to be airlifted by helicopter to Milpark hospital.

Brian has been on a ventilator and sedated in I.C.U. since Friday night the 2nd March. On arrival an emergency operation was carried out on his lungs. On Sunday 4th March another emergency operation was performed on his left elbow to avoid further serious implications.

Unfortunately Brian has no medical aid as he could not afford it. We cannot transfer Brian to a state hospital as the Dr’s advice is that his condition is still too critical. He will also need further operations and care and we have no idea what this will amount to, as at Wednesday 7th March the hospital fees are already R210 000. With a further anticipated tracheotomy needed operation, theatre fees and further hospital costs will be in the region of an additional R400 000. Only once this has been carried out will Brian possibly be in a stable enough condition to be transferred to a state Hospital to avoid further extreme costs.

The reason for my letter is to appeal to each and every one of you that finds this letter, and the crime of this situation being of any significance to yourself, to find it in your heart to assist in any way possible.

We have created a Brian Anthony Mulder Trust fund for any donations (please see below for bank details). Alternatively please sms BRIAN to 38493 at only R10 and all proceeds will go to the Brian Anthony Mulder Trust.

Please send me any ideas or contacts that can help us raise funds to save Brian. Our family will stick together no matter what and do all we can, but sometimes not even that is enough.

Any help whatsoever will be gladly appreciated. Pray for Brian, we love you.
