Brits House Robbery and Murder


Police in Brits in the North West Province are investigating a house robbery and murder case that occurred today, 5 September, 2012 at plot 415 Southpansdrift. The incident is alleged to have occurred in the early hours of the morning.

According to the wife, they were asleep when they heard strange sounds outside the house. They went out to check what could be the problem. Unfortunately, the husband was shot on his right leg by an unknown man who was standing at the bedroom window.

The husband collapsed, and three more suspects emerged and entered the house. Immediately, the wife ran for cover and locked herself inside the bathroom. There was suddenly silence in the house and when the wife got out of the bathroom where she hid herself she found her husband in a pool of blood. She then discovered that a safe containing two rifles and the Nokia cell phone were missing.

She immediately informed the police about the incident. On arrival, the police found the suspects long gone. Emergency Medical Services were called and declared the victim dead on scene. It is alleged that the suspect might have been killed with a shovel again that was found next to him. Police have also found two 9mm cartridges on the scene of crime. Four suspects are still at large and police are investigating.
