Eight men gun down couple

Boy left orphaned after parents are killed in a robbery at his home

Police are looking for information after a husband and wife were killed on plot 13 in Johan Road, Honeydew on the evening of 6 June.

According to Roodepoort SAPS spokesperson Vincent Mashiteng, eight men entered the couple’s residence at 20.45pm with the intention to rob them.

Only two of the eight suspects were armed when they entered the premises.

Both the wife and husband were shot by the assailants  and left the son unwounded.

According to Mashiteng, the mother died on the scene and the father was dead on arrival at the hospital.

The suspects fled on foot and it is said that they took the family’s jewellery and an undisclosed amount of money with them.

It is believed that the men are South African residents as they all spoke fluent Zulu while they were in the house.

The police are seeking any information that can assist them in the apprehension of the men.
