Marchon Eyewear Acquires Scandinavian Eyewear

BusinessWire/ME-Newswire - Marchon Eyewear, Inc. today announced the acquisition of Swedish eyewear company Scandinavian Eyewear.

Established in 1948, Scandinavian Eyewear has been designing optical frames for almost 65 years and has been a leader in the Nordic region. Scandinavian Eyewear’s proprietary brand, SKAGA, has made a distinctive mark in the eyewear industry.

The acquisition will allow Marchon to penetrate the prominent share the company has in the Scandinavian market and broaden the distribution of proprietary and licensed brands worldwide.

Claudio Gottardi, Marchon President and CEO, said, “The acquisition of Scandinavian Eyewear marks another proud moment in Marchon’s continuous global expansion efforts and strategic plans for growth. This company has a rich heritage and a formidable history. The combination of high quality, craftsmanship and classic design perfectly aligns with Marchon’s core values. We look forward to continuing and expanding Scandinavian’s brand equities and presence worldwide in a collaborative partnership.”

In addition to SKAGA, the company has a strong portfolio of brands, all unique in style and character. The extensive brand portfolio also includes Oscar Jacobson, Pilgrim, Lexington, FACE Stockholm, as well as collaborations with renowned Swedish designers Oscar Magnuson and Efva Attling. Joakim Broback, CEO of Scandinavian Eyewear, said, “This is a significant day for Scandinavian Eyewear. We are excited to move into the future under Marchon’s guidance and leadership. We are confident that their expertise and support will strengthen both our brands and our company as we move forward together in tandem.”
