On Monday 2011-09-26 at about 21:05, the owner of a truck received information from the tracking company, that one of his trucks is stationary on the N12 freeway, at the Bronkhorstspruit off ramp.
The owner dispatched one of his mechanics to go and see what is wrong with the truck. With his arrival on the scene, the mechanic found the driver tied up in the bunker bed of the truck.
The driver was dead and he had bruises all over his face and a open wound. There was a lot of blood, and the cause of death will be determined by a post mortem.
The dashboard was dismantled and it seems that the suspects was trying to remove the tracking device. It is believed that this was a truck hijacking that went wrong.
The deceased was a white male from the Freestate.
A case of murder is investigated by the Delmas Detectives.
The truck is a white International with reg no DWL592FS, with two trailers, reg no CTC817FS and CTC819FS, bearing a Goldfield logo.
